Peenemünde, Usedom Island, Baltic Sea, Germany
At the birthplace of space travel, Rocketman completes the Gravity's Rainbow journey by finding rocket 00000 at the launch site of the secret Nazi laboratory at Peenemünde off the coast of Germany in the Baltic Sea.
In front of a curtain of rainbow coloured smoke, Rocketman ignites the rocket to Elton's John lamentation of space travel composed after Ray Bradbury's short story with the same title.
Worlds collide at the supersonic speed of the V-2 rocket engineered here by Werner Von Braun, once Nazi lead scientist and then later key figure in the US military and NASA's rocket programs--including the Space Race against the Russians to reach the Moon.
